Blue Oak Stables is now ready for a Breyer Christmas!  The cookies and milk are for Santa.  The reindeer will be getting some delicious cheese!

Thanks to Trait and Poker Joe for carrying the cookies and cheese!  Trait!.... Stay away from that cheese!  It's for the reindeer!

Wild Night for Breyer Horses

It seems a couple of our Breyer horses had a night out on the town last night!  As we mentioned, Blitzen (Picture Perfect Quarter Horse) is new to Blue Oak Stables.  Apparently, Indy (Let's Go Riding Western Collectible Set) thought it would be appropriate to take Blitzen out for a "Welcome To Blue Oak Stables Night".

Some pictures of the wild night have leaked back to us.  Children under 6 years of age may want to use caution when viewing these pictures!

The night started simple enough... Just two Breyer horses out for some yummy pizza.

But, before long, the two were drinking HUGE quantities of sweet tea.  I'm not talking about artificial sweeteners, either.  Lots and LOTS of sugar!

It seems the sugar went straight to their heads!  Notice how good manners were no longer a concern for these two.  Blitzen has pizza sauce all over his face, and Indy has cheese on his HEAD!

But, despite all the craziness, the two realized that this pizza and sweet tea would go straight to their flanks.  So, on the way home, they stopped by the gym for some treadmill time.

In the end, no harm was done and Blitzen now feels like a member of the Blue Oak Stables herd!

Breyer Picture Perfect Quarter Horse

Blue Oak Stables received an early Christmas present this week!  We now have the Breyer Picture Perfect Quarter Horse!  Since he doesn't come with an official Breyer name, we named him Blitzen, in honor of Christmas.

Breyer Takoda

Breyer Prancer

We first learned of Prancer when watching The Saddle Club.  She was the first Thoroughbred at Blue Oak Stables!

Breyer Little Tahoma

Little Tahoma, a dark bay Appaloosa, is one of our favorite Breyers at Blue Oak Stables!  She does have quite a few rubs and scratches on her, but that's only because she is played with so much!  We think it gives her character!

Seabiscuit vs War Admiral

Today is the 71 year anniversary of what some people consider to be the  greatest horse race in history.

On November 1, 1938, Triple Crown winner and reigning Horse of the Year War Admiral, the great son of Man o' War, met Seabiscuit, who would go on to be the Horse of the Year and the world's leading money winning Thoroughbred.

And the winner was... Seabiscuit!

We don't yet have the Breyer Seabiscuit or War Admiral, but they are certainly on our wish list!

It is almost time to see what is in the mysterious Halloween package! A few of the Blue Oak Stables Breyers are helping us bring the package to the front pasture!

Breyer Halloween

The excitement is building at Blue Oak Stables! Many of our Breyer Horses have heard about the mysterious package that was left by The Great Pumpkin Breyer Rider.

You may not realize this, but Breyer Horses LOVE a good mystery! They especially like a Halloween mystery! Many of our horses have even tried to guess what is in the package.

Footloose thinks it is a big box of delicious apples.

Big Chex to Cash thinks it is an awesome saddle!

Spirit thinks it may be a beautiful tail, to replace the one he seems to have lost.

But, the truth is, we just won't know until Halloween!

Great Pumpkin Breyer Rider

WARNING... The following images may be disturbing to some viewers!

Each year, as Halloween approaches, the Great Pumpkin Breyer Rider sets out across the land.  Mounted on his lightening fast American Quarter Horse, Roxy, he searches for worthy Breyer Stables.  Once he finds a worthy stable, he often leaves a Halloween gift.

Late last night, we were able to capture his visit to Blue Oak Stables.

As you can see, he left Blue Oak Stables a Halloween gift!  UNFORTUNATELY, we are not allowed to open it until Halloween!  Check back on Halloween to see what the Great Pumpkin Breyer Rider has left for us!

Breyer Banjo

Banjo is one of Blue Oak Stables' American Paint Horses.

(pronounced: tow vair' oh)

Dark pigmentation around the ears, which may expand to cover the forehead and/or eyes.

One or both eyes blue.

Dark pigmentation around the mouth, which may extend up the sides of the face and form spots.

Chest spot(s) in varying sizes. These may also extend up the neck.

Flank spot(s) ranging in size. These are often accompanied by smaller spots that extend forward across the barrel, and up over the loin.

Spots, varying in size, at the base of the tail.

Breyer Trait du Nord

We would like to welcome our BIGGEST Breyer Horse to Blue Oak Stables, Trait du Nord!  Actually, Trait du Nord is his breed, but we call him Trait.

The Trait du Nord breed is a type of heavy draft horse, bred in France.  This breed can weigh from 1,320 to 1,700 pounds!  (Our Trait weighs a little less)

Repairing Breyer Scratches

I know there many of you out there keep your Breyer horses in the original box.  We do that with very few of our Breyers.  Most of our Breyer horses end up being played with in the yard, in the dirt, on the driveway...

If you play with your Breyer horses like we do, they will end up getting scratches and rubs.  No need to worry!  You can repair them!

Whitening Yellowed Breyer Models

BreyerFest Special Runs

One of the most exciting things about BreyerFest was the way you get the special runs!  At first it seems really confusing, but it actually works quite well.

Basically, it is pretty simple... For each BreyerFest ticket you buy you get a Special Run Ticket.  That ticket has a time on it.  So, when your time comes up, you line up by the Breyer Store area.  Someone then draws a number.  Whoever has that number on their Special Run Ticket gets to be first in line. Everyone else lines up after them, based on the number on their Special Run Ticket.

The important thing to remember is that your Special Run Ticket allows you to buy ONLY TWO Special Runs!

While we were at BreyerFest, we got the following special runs:

BreyerFest Traffic

Well, one thing is for sure... We sure didn't expect the traffic to be SO BAD getting in to BreyerFest! It took us almost an hour to travel a mile! This is our first BreyerFest, so I'm not sure if this is normal.  I will definitely plan on getting there earlier next year!

When we finally got up to the front gate, the line was terrible. It seems the credit card machines were not working.  Fortunately, we already had our tickets!
